The Mercedes SLS AMG has a pedigree dating back to the gullwing in 1955. The doors actually require less room to open than standard doors and the car is easily parked even in tight parking lots. This car certainly breaks the mold on what a supercar should look like. While it posts good numbers in the performance category, it does not tell the whole story. This car is about low end torque and likes to shift early in the powerband. Mercedes clearly wanted to make a luxury sports car that was civilized enough to drive around town, but makes a statement when the pedal is pushed. There isn’t quite anything else that has the sound of the AMG tuned engine.
